Love and relationship

Serious relationship: what is it?

For each couple has its own concept of what is a serious relationship. For someone, sex is an indicator, but for someone it means nothing at all. Sometimes men overwhelm a woman with compliments, flowers, gifts, but actually do not have any long-term plans, so for some external manifestations of attention it is not always possible to determine how serious such relationships are.

What is it?

If you are trying to determine the seriousness of the relationship by external manifestations, then the only thing that can be considered as an indicator is the attitude of the person towards you with outsiders and among friends. If a partner prefers to be at a distance, does not show that you are a couple, or treats you dismissively, showing character, then this is a reason to think about his motives and plans, regardless of what he said to you alone.

It is hardly possible to talk about a serious relationship, without taking into account the presence or absence of feelings. When love arises, the desire to be close to a person, this is the first step towards long-term relationships.

Relationships can not exist with the return only on one side. Therefore, another criterion of seriousness is the desire to be together, which comes from both sides. In this case, both the man and the woman are absolutely sure of their choice.

But there are also situations when one partner (or both) just spend time with each other, they feel good together, but they have no plans for living together, marriage, having children, they live in anticipation of "their" person. Therefore, even if such relations are long (and they can last for years), this does not make them serious.

Collaborative plans are another interesting indicator of seriousness. Interesting, because even after marriage in some families there are no signs of seriousness in the relationship. For example, people are not ready to have children (for years) not because they do not love them, but because for some reason they don’t want to raise them with their second, already legal, half.

Or one of the most relevant examples is a mortgage or plans for building joint housing. In fact, this will lead to responsibilities that will have to be shared for a long period of time, but people are not sure that they will live so much together.

There are other examples: people who are familiar most recently, feel responsible for each other, want to “live happily ever after” next to each other.

Therefore, the seriousness of relations is a kind of deep-seated concept, which largely depends on the mental state and qualities of the partner, his moral and ethical principles, and his readiness to exist not only to satisfy his own needs. Here I would also like to note the common interests and views on the future. This is not directly related to the seriousness of the relationship, but, as a rule, different people scatter quickly enough, even if they immediately experienced a crazy passion.

Trust, sincerity, willingness to work on relationships are all signs of a serious relationship. In any relationship, there comes a period when the partners are attuned to each other, find out the flaws, assess whether they can continue to communicate. This is only the first stage; as a rule, it is still accompanied by a state of euphoria, and most couples can pass through it (if there is a desire).

Then it may seem that the difficulties are over, but not. Obstacles and difficulties can arise in any relationship at any time. However, it happens that people have one approach to such situations: they are together looking for a way out and are ready to overcome difficulties without thinking that you can simply change a partner or shift the responsibility to him.

Responsibility for a shared future is another criterion for evaluating a serious and genuine relationship, and this should also come from each of the partners.
