Shopaholism (oniomania): how to overcome this disease?

Many of them know that shopaholism (onyomania) is a real plague of the 21st century. In order to recover from shopmania, you have to admit that you are really buying everything, without even thinking about whether you need it or not. You need to understand what pushes you to such actions, so you need to find out the causes of this "disease."

Firstly, these are neon lights of advertising, constantly recurring clips on TV, booklets served by smiling young people.

And in all this promise to be beautiful, fashionable, slim, attractive.

Secondly, it is stress that overtakes everyone because of the rapid speeds of our lives, because of the race for survival, because of the desire to be better and more successful than others.

Third, even psychologists are often advised to go shopping in order to feel free and happy.

Yes, the experts are right, it helps a lot, but on condition that the person knows the measure.

Otherwise, the treatment of stress will grow into a psychological addiction to “buy without stopping” - shopaholism (oniomania).

What to do with this disease?

It's time to give some practical advice.

Do not be lazy and buy yourself a bright notebook, write down all your expenses there, and in a week calculate what and how much you spent. Evaluate whether you have made important purchases or spent your money on trinkets.

Accurately specify the amount you can lay out next week. If you invest in it, please yourself with a gift. This is a great motivation.

It is better to remove credit cards during treatment out of sight, and there is always a small amount in your wallet, then there will be nothing to spend.

Before going to the stores, write a list of what you need to buy, and most importantly, follow it strictly. Try not to buy everything you liked, because very often the shops use tricks: lighting, advantageous location of goods, bright signs.

On sale - not a foot. Even if the girlfriend calls, the child persuades. You understand that such a test is not yet ready to pass.

Finally, get an envelope-piggy bank and collect on something very important. Each month, save it in advance of the scheduled amount, then realize the dream, and learn to keep yourself in hand.

We sincerely hope that these simple tips will help those who suffer from a disease called shopmania.
