I repeat that if you are new to meditation, then I do not recommend starting to practice any particular technique from the Meditationfest series until you have read all of them and read my final comments. I am sure that these are all good methods, but the choice of meditation is an important matter, with which it is better not to rush, so please be patient, I will try to translate and publish all the lectures as soon as possible. But if you can’t wait to start meditating, then if I were you, I would start with meditation with mantra.
First, I will briefly talk about the qigong master himself, Chunyi Li, about the beginnings of his spiritual path, his practice and teaching. And then I will proceed to the description of the qigong meditation exercises themselves, which you can do yourself. These exercises are not only aimed at spiritual self-improvement, but also contribute to the healing of the body from disease and self-healing.
The beginnings of the spiritual path of Chunyi Li
So this lecture, which I have translated for you, is read by Chunyi Li - Honored Master Qigong practice, healer and professor at the university. The catalyst of his spiritual path was a strong emotional shock. During the revolution in China, his parents were put in prison and he, as a child, was on the street with his siblings. He spent his childhood in the struggle for survival, he almost died from starvation, he had to flee from armed soldiers. Since childhood, he has known grief, fear and misery.
It left an indelible imprint on it. As an adult, he looked at things from a negative angle, he was overcome by anger and depression. The matter corrected the experience of teaching a little bit: after he became a professor at the university, he realized how wonderful it is to teach people and help them. While lecturing, the depression and spleen disappeared, but as soon as he returned home in the evening, it all returned to him.
Qigong treatment. Healing body and soul
Then Lin got injured and got arthritis. Disease and mental state forced him to undertake something, to take care of himself. Lin began to practice medical qigong (Chinese practice of self-regulation of the body) and as a result, thanks to the qigong meditative exercises, his illness passed. But this ancient Chinese meditative technique not only restored his physical health to him, she granted him a new perception of life. Passed depression, which no longer returned. The world was filled with bright colors and Lin began to realize the beauty and perfection of the universe! He began to look at things from the other side! It awakened the love of people and of all things.
He began to help others in solving life problems. Lin saved marriages, returned people happiness and love for life, cured them. Lin believes that negative emotions are a source of human illness and unhappiness: stress, fear, depression, anger. Lin declares that the healthiest and longest living people are happy people, full of joy. They rarely smile from their faces, even in the most difficult situations of life they remain optimistic and have faith in themselves. And depression, mental depression, anger make us hurt and shorten life.

I, the author of this translation, encountered this effect: when I began to meditate with the mantra, depression and panic attacks only intensified during the first two weeks of practice, but then, they completely disappeared. Some explain this by the fact that intense “spiritual cleansing” is taking place, the negative begins to come out and this process cannot start without painlessness. I do not know whether this is so or not, but, nevertheless, I had a case of intensifying negative symptoms.
So let's get to the qigong meditation itself. You can do it anytime.
Take a sitting position and relax. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and out, calmly and slowly three times. Press your tongue to your palate, place your hands with your palms up and imagine that you are holding a glowing ball of energy opposite your navel. Speak to yourself:
- I'm in the universe
- The universe is in my body
- I and the universe are united
From this moment you feel the harmony with the cosmos. You are calm and relaxed, you are immersed in a void. Every part of your body is relaxed. (start alternately relaxing body parts from the top down from the head). The head is relaxed, the neck is relaxed ... and so on: shoulders, back, waist, abdomen, tail bone, legs, knees, calves, feet - everything is relaxed. All energy channels are open, energy freely flows through the body, passes through the spine.
Your head is calm, all problems turn into smoke, you can breathe easily, your whole body is relaxed. All energy blocks turn into smoke and disappear. All organs of the body feel good. Your blood sugar levels, blood pressure return to normal. Your nervous system, circulatory system, immune system return to normal. Every cell in your body recovers and returns to normal. You feel healthy and happy.
From now on, imagine that you are a little boy. You run through the grass: colorful flowers of incredible beauty grow around, butterflies flutter in the sky, the air is filled with wonderful aromas, you hear the murmur of streams and the laughter of happy children. The stress, kindness and calmness return to you, your true self comes back to you. You experience joy. No more fatigue and depression. Fears disappear. All the negative goes away. You feel calm body and soul. The world around is beautiful.
When you are ready open your eyes and wake up. You are greeted by a beautiful and wonderful world.
Final comments on the review
Chunyi Ling exercises include an audio course, it is assumed that you will listen to the calm and measured voice of the master during meditation, which tells you all these things (relax, imagine that you are a little boy, etc.) that I described above. The recording of this voice is acquired on the website meditationfest for not at all small money. But I do not think that this is a matter of principle; you can pronounce these phrases to yourself and present certain things yourself.
You are also free not to follow the exact instructions in terms of visualizing images during meditation: you can change a little boy to any other image: use your imagination, nothing prevents you from imagining yourself at the seaside, in the mountains, or in a quiet forest, the main thing is that your imagination was pacifying. Spoken things like “I in the universe” can reformulate or invent your own phrases.
As for the successive relaxation of all organs, I do not see anything wrong with that. But I have a certain amount of skepticism and doubt about the need to rearrange all these energy flows within our body. Energy circulation within us, energy blocks — all of this is not objectively registered physical phenomena (there is no other kind of phenomenon other than physical in the world, in my opinion, neither spiritual, nor mental, nor energy are all simply subspecies of physical, material processes ). All this is just a subjective and simplified interpretation by certain people of everything that happens in our body.
