Admiration is caused by good doctors, famous athletes, journalists and other professionals in their field. Do you like your job? Have you ever wondered how to find your vocation?

How to understand what exactly this business is my vocation?

What is the vocation? This is an inclination towards any kind of activity, an inner desire to devote life to a certain occupation. Often, people do not know anything about their hidden talents, and they manifest themselves in unexpected circumstances. If your activity is your vocation, you will agree with the following statements:

  1. When I do what I love, time flies by.
  2. I am so passionate about my work that I forget to eat.
  3. I am ready to be engaged in this business even on days off, I do not consider it as work.
  4. New ideas come to me suddenly - in public transport, in a cafe, on the way home.
  5. I am ready to do my favorite business for free, provided that I have another source of income to meet basic household needs.

By the way, close and surrounding people may recognize your talent, and may not express much admiration for your success. This is normal. All opinions are subjective and may be due to your personal attitude. Therefore, focus only on your feelings!

How to find the business of your life

And what about those who have not yet decided which direction to take? How to find your vocation in life? The following tips, based on a study by American psychologist Howard Gordner, will help you figure out which activities you have a tendency to:

  1. You have oratorical skills, innate literacy. Teachers at school have always appreciated your writing and creative works in literature. You do not experience difficulties in learning foreign languages.

According to the theory of G. Gordner, your vocation is verbal linguistic. This means that you will achieve success by choosing the profession of a journalist, writer, teacher and lawyer. Also, any social activity is favorable for you.

  1. You tend to systematize any work, have analytical thinking. Easily identify cause-effect relationships. At school, you have been successful in math and exact sciences.

So, you have the logic and math skills. Choose a profession from the list: physicist, programmer, mathematician, physician, analyst, engineer.

  1. How to find your vocation, if from the expressed talents only developed visual memory and a sense of beauty? If at the same time you are able to mentally manipulate various forms in space, you notice harmonious combinations of objects, tones and semitones - everything is clear with you!

Your talents indicate a penchant for the profession of a designer, sculptor, architect, artist and ... chess player!

  1. You are able to control yourself in any situation. You understand your emotions, know how to control them, see the causal relationships between inner experiences and your actions.

A high degree of awareness and self-control indicates a penchant for psychology, philosophy, spiritual practices. According to G. Howard, you have a pronounced intra-personal talent.

  1. You understand the goals and desires of other people, easily guess their moods and hidden emotions. You are able to rally the team, to attract others to any activity, to choose an individual approach to each. You are attracted to teamwork.

Your gift is interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, you can discover social foresight. Choose one of the following directions: business, psychology, social activity (leadership positions), management in the sphere of services and sales.

  1. You feel the rhythm perfectly and reproduce the sounds. You are attracted to musical instruments, and you easily master them. Your talent is a musical ear.

The musical and rhythmic vocation implies a tendency towards the profession of a conductor, singer, musician, and composer.

  1. You have expressive facial expressions and gestures, own your own body and movements. Also, your talents - a sense of time, agility, reaction speed, excellent coordination and tactile memory.

You have a body-kinesthetic gift that allows you to succeed in sports, artistic activities, choreography, surgery, mechanics and hand craft.

  1. Since childhood, you are passionate about the beauty of the world. You experience love for all living things - plants, animals, insects. You are attracted to farm life, agriculture, the study of natural phenomena.

You have a naturalistic talent and you will find your happiness in biology, meteorology, archeology, farming, chemistry, botany and zoology. Also, you will entice any activity related to travel!

What prevents you from finding yourself and doing what you love?

In order to find the business of a lifetime, you need to get rid of attitudes that prevent you from understanding what occupation you really want to make your fate connected. Consider the most common misconceptions:

  1. I have no special talent.

"How to find my calling if I am not talented?" Often such a question worries those who cannot sing, dance, write poetry or pictures. But after all, there are so many other spheres of activity in the world in which you could express yourself! How do you know, what if you could become a successful programmer? Try to analyze your interests, and discover new personalities!

Our talents often manifest unexpectedly for ourselves. So do not be afraid to test your abilities in any field that you wish!

  1. My favorite activity will not bring me income.

For example, you like to draw. When you were a child, you graduated from an art school, the teachers marked you with a special talent. You decorated the house with your paintings and sometimes paint for yourself. And you have to work as an accountant. You do not like your job, consider it routine and boring. But, unfortunately, your vocation will not bring a stable income. Here is where you will sell your paintings? In the underpass or in the city park?

The problem is that, without following your dreams, you risk not living your life. Suppose you will have enough money to rent an apartment, food, basic household needs, but lack of implementation will haunt you to the end, and on the threshold of old age you will experience terrible disappointment in vain days spent.

  1. If I change my life, then I will challenge the condemnation of others.

You are a successful businessman. Once graduated from a pedagogical university and dreamed of teaching in high school. But this work in your circle is considered not prestigious and low paid. You love your business, but by and large, would you like to "sow reasonable, good, eternal." Moreover, and savings allow you to do what you love. But what will friends say, family? In their opinion, this is - shaped insanity.

Recall that you live once. Why look back at the opinions of others, even close ones, people? Choose what you have a tendency, and do not think about the reaction of others. This is the only way you can be completely happy!

  1. I do not have enough knowledge or other qualities to make the dream a reality.

You are afraid that you will not cope with the dream job. It seems to you that other people involved in this area of experience and knowledge have more than you. More and more capable, persistent and talented. And after the very first steps in the direction of the dream, you will have to drop everything again and go back to the beginning.

Knowledge, experience and even talent needs constant nourishment and training. Everything comes with time. And, if now you are a “green” novice, then in a year you will be able to surpass even the famous gurus. The main thing - perseverance, continuous learning, practice and faith in yourself!

  1. In the area in which I want to develop, fierce competition flourishes. I can not resist rivals.

“I would work as a lawyer, I like it, but I’m afraid that competitors will just eat me!” to open another gallery with pictures is unprofitable. " With these phrases you are trying to explain to others why you are not implementing your talent in a particular area.

Competition in the modern world in any niche is quite high. After all, why don't you believe in yourself? What if you are much more talented than most? The problem is that their imperfections do not notice only mediocrity. Self-criticism is the path to victory. But you shouldn't underestimate yourself either. It threatens that you will never be able to succeed. So do not be afraid of competition! Risk for your happiness!
