Time management? I have not heard ...

Hello, dear reader! With this article I open the cycle of my publications devoted to issues of self-development and success. As befits any guru's "five minutes", I will begin with a criticism of existing concepts, first of all - Time-management. At once I will make a reservation that criticism is not a goal in itself, but only directed towards optimizing and increasing effectiveness, with all due respect to the existing teachings and their creators.

So, Time-management is the art of rational use of time in order to improve its effectiveness. That is, how to live "25 hours a day." Very popular in the business environment direction, allowing literally "squeeze the last juice" from themselves and their subordinates. Everything seemed to be not bad, but after several years of studying and teaching at trainings, there was a feeling of leaving the true path. That is, as if we are going correctly, but the road is very winding. After analyzing what exactly confuses me, I came to the conclusion that Time-management is not deprived of a number of shortcomings, which will be discussed further.

Time Management Disadvantages

Delving into the topic of this doctrine, I found quite a few critical publications about it. Apparently, their authors acted according to the principle I voiced at the beginning of the article. They showed the complete inefficiency of Time-management for creative people, accused him of inhuman exploitation of the people, in the desire of employers to load their subordinates with a large amount of work for the same money, etc. Honestly, after all this, I somehow even felt sorry for Time-management and really wanted to intercede for him, since he, like any other tool, can be useful with skillful use.

But back to the topic of publication. What I personally do not like in time management:

1. Excessive re-optimization of a person.

Frankly speaking, I had the pleasure of communicating with several diligent adherents of Time management. It seemed that they even went to the toilet on schedule. There was a feeling that I got into the future and communicate with cyborg. This is rather not a flaw in Time Management, but the specificity of individuals living according to the principle of "broken from the prayer of the forehead." Sometimes, getting a high-quality tool in hand, a person succumbs to the temptation to use it wherever possible. I strongly advise against this, as even the sharpest knife will become “dull” from fanatical exploitation. If you overstrain your body with over-optimization, it will entail only depression and stress, which will have a negative impact on the future performance of a person.

2. The fight against "hated" chronophages.

And this is purely my "pebble in the garden" Time-management. The fact is that, like all people who learn about Time-management for the first time, I also eagerly absorbed all of its principles and recommendations. So he hated the chronophages (time eaters) and loved the keepers of time with all their hearts. And then he became thoughtful ... Accidentally finding himself at a training in time management, asked his host a question - "Do you believe in fate?" In response, silence ... Now I will try to explain to what it was said.

In addition to bad habits, which, in any case, must be abandoned, chronophages include all that distracts us from the central strategy of life. I will demonstrate with an example. Suppose some ambitious young man came to get a job in the company of his dreams. Passing by the doorman (receptionist) - an elderly woman is quite impressive in size, he didn’t consider it necessary to communicate, but to greet her.

And the fact that the woman timidly asked to hang up the disappeared picture, in general, "by the ears" missed. Where there! It is better to spend this minute on affirmations in the reception, setting yourself up for success and irresistibility. After him, a less optimized guy came to the building and helped the chronophagist with the painting. The hour arrived, but the director invited all applicants to come another time. Suddenly the receptionist came into the reception room, who, as it turned out, was a distant relative of the director and seeing her assistant, rushed to praise him in front of the head. Do you think that the minutes spent were paid off or not? ...

And now we come back to the question of destiny and its associated destination. I think each of us faced situations when the decision came from a completely unexpected side. And, let's say, having studied for years as a teacher, a person eventually became a famous artist, designer, or politician. And all because one day he didn’t pass by the “chronophage” and, having spent his time on it, radically changed the course of events. Or maybe, on the contrary, he acquired his true purpose.

3. The illusion of proactivity.

Man obeys the laws of nature and society. He can be the master of his life only up to a certain point. Then begin the possession of "His Majesty the Case." Sometimes, instead of rushing somewhere, you should breathe out and carefully analyze your life. Is it possible that what we are striving for is already near?

Thus, we smoothly approached the main concept of my blog - to extract the maximum benefit from what we already have. Studying Time-management, I first became acquainted with the dual interpretation of time. It turns out that there are two kinds of it: the stable Chronos and the volatile Kairos or lucky chance, a good moment. If the first smoothly follows in its direction, then the second periodically gives a person a chance for success.

And then I thought, why wait passively for these good moments, if you can try to attract them yourself. This is how the concept came about. Kairos management or a successful case management. It is about him and will be discussed in future publications of my blog. At once I will say that I do not oppose my teaching to time management, but I propose to expand one of its areas related to a successful coincidence of circumstances.

In fact, favorable moments surround us like apples hanging on a tree above Newton's head. According to legend, one of these fruits initiated the law of aggression. But should we, like Newton, wait for “your apple”, maybe it makes sense to trot an apple tree and thereby open a couple more laws and the road to the nearest emergency room? Jokes are jokes, but potential opportunities are sometimes under our very eyes, it remains only to develop clear mechanisms for their detection. This is what will be discussed in the next article devoted to the first reception of Kairos-management - "Efficiency of the Strongbox", thanks to which you can get to know yourself and your surroundings better.
