How to become an interesting conversationalist

Every day we meet a lot of people. We are forced to communicate with some of them, communication with others brings joy. There are people who simply enchant with their ability to communicate, and with someone just throw a couple of words and it turns out. What is the difference between them? Everyone wants, if not to shine in the spotlight, then at least be able to keep the conversation going. So, how to become an interesting conversationalist?

There are several rules that must be followed to make it interesting for others to communicate with you.

Listen more

As a rule, people love to talk about themselves. You are most likely not an exception. Therefore, if you, telling some interesting story from your point of view, have noticed that the interlocutor begins to yawn, it's time to ask him some question. Surprisingly, those who carefully listen are considered the best interlocutors. Ask more questions, people are happy to talk about their hobbies and what gives them emotions.

Also, there are those who extremely love to talk about their problems. Such people often simply have no one to talk to, because they have already scared off all those who were near. Never join such people and do not complain about fate, work or neighbor. A good companion is always in a good mood, he can support, but he will not complain.

Do not forget that there are people who do not like to talk or just today are not in the mood. A good conversationalist feels the emotions and reactions of others and, if necessary, can delicately enable a person to be alone.

Compliments

Nice words love everyone. Of course, this should not look like outright flattery. If there are any changes in a person's appearance - be sure to voice it - he will be pleased. Especially pay attention to the events about which the interlocutor tells you - he wants to share something important for him. Be sure to sincerely rejoice.

But criticism should be abandoned. Any negative, expressed by strangers, multiplies in its action many times. And if you have put a person in an unfavorable position with your commentary, be sure that you have acquired the enemy.

What to talk about

If you want to become a good interlocutor, then the person with whom you are in dialogue should be comfortable. And this means that the topic of conversation should be interesting to him.

In the world every day there are some events and, in order to be aware, regularly review the news feed. Even if you don’t know about a particular event that the interviewee wants to discuss, you will know the general trends and it’s easy to keep the conversation going.

How to “mimic”?

Subconsciously, a person is sympathetic to people who resemble him. Therefore, you can use psychological techniques to endear a person. For example, gestures, facial expressions, intonation can play into your hands. Of course, these techniques should be used very carefully, so that the person does not think that you are mocking him.

Experience

Communication skill develops the same as any other. Many people are naturally shy and fearful when there is a need to communicate with a stranger, and especially when the audience is large.

Therefore, more often “rehearse” - the more you communicate, the less difficulties you will experience. Do not be afraid to look ridiculous. If the comic situation has already happened, then laugh with the others.

Smile

Smile more often - advice that is always useful. A smile disarms. A smile relieves stress, and your opponent, like you, will feel calmer and more confident.

Even when discussing a serious topic on the face may be present benevolent smile. A smile does not always look appropriate, and you should not smile when discussing some tragic events.

Elementary rules of courtesy

Sometimes, remembering some interesting story, we can not wait to share it. It is important to remember that under no circumstances should one interrupt the interlocutor, starting to tell something of his own. It's just ugly and certainly does not contribute to your understanding.

The same applies to questions - to interrupt, even in order to show their interest, should not be. It is necessary to wait for the narrator to finish and then ask, everything that is so interesting. But even in this case, many questions are not asked, if a person is tiring to talk, unless of course you are at any scientific conference.

Vote

To control the voice is one of the greatest arts. First, a lot will depend on timbre, pitch, voice volume. When these characteristics change, the same information will be perceived by the interlocutor differently. Well, of course, it must be clear. No one should listen in order to make out what exactly the opponent said.
