How to choose a profession?

The choice of profession is a very important decision that makes every person in their lives. Someone in childhood dreamed of becoming an astronaut, doctor, teacher, going to the moon, a veterinarian, a scientist, a driver. Everyone dreamed and thought that it was necessary, when they grew up, to fulfill their dream.
But it often happens that as a person matures, he forgets about his dream and makes a choice based on his views and interests, advice from relatives and friends, relevance of the profession and other reasons. But how to choose a profession to your liking, so that work in the future would be a favorite thing, bring pleasure and satisfaction?

Frequent mistakes when choosing a profession:

Admission to the university and college "for the company" with school friends. Or according to the principle “where I will pass on the exams, where they will take, I will go there”. Today, the wrong choice of school can lead to serious problems in the future. First, the interest in learning will disappear, that is, you will not be able to fully gain knowledge, then the unloved job in a specialty that will make you a slave, and not a successful person.
The relevance of the profession. Many graduates are guided by the relevance of the profession and demand, considering this as the main criterion when choosing a profession. For example, many are based on the list of "the most highly paid professions", but many forget that today the profession is relevant and highly valued, and tomorrow, especially after 5 years of study at the university, everything can change. If the profession does not match your abilities and talents, then it will be difficult to succeed in life, even if the profession is highly paid.
Relatives and parents. This is perhaps the biggest mistake. You yourself must make a choice, and only you have to make such important decisions regarding your life. Parents should not insist and impose their views on how to choose a profession.
Example. In your society there is a person who, for example, is a lawyer by profession. This person is very sympathetic to you, you would like to be like him, you like any traits of his character, and you consider him to be an example to follow. Based on this, you subconsciously want to be like this person and choose the legal profession.
But who told you that it is the legal profession that will make you such a person? Perhaps when your “idol”, who became an example for you, made the right choice in due time and now his profession is not only making money, but also a favorite thing. Why a person feels great, successful and radiates positive energy.
Perhaps these are the main mistakes when choosing a profession. Before you make an informed choice, you need to think things over well, consciously and seriously approach this, and also take a career counseling test.

Tips when choosing a profession:

1. Pass the vocational guidance test. If you didn’t have to pass this test at school, it can be done in psychological centers, in some universities or colleges, online on the Internet.
2. Identify your capabilities. Education today is quite expensive, especially if you do not have the opportunity to enroll in the budget form of education. Think over all the options for paying for your education.
3. Determination of their desires, skills and abilities. Take a notebook and a pen. Write a list of your desires, your positive and negative character traits, what you can do, what you do with particular enthusiasm.
4. Learn more. If you have decided on a choice or you are in doubt and you are interested in two or more professions, then try to learn more about them. Read what the specialist of this profession is doing, what is its responsibility, on the websites of universities you can also get acquainted with the list of disciplines in the specialty and, after reading, choose a profession.
5. Imagine yourself in a few years. Imagine and imagine that you have received a diploma, you have a higher education, and you got a job in the specialty. Work a year, two and a few more years. Now ask yourself a simple question "Am I ready to work as a lawyer (manager, veterinarian, tutor) all my life?"
Remember that the quality of your future life depends on the choice of profession, how much you will become a successful and happy person. Choosing a profession to which the soul lies, you do not have to step over yourself and force yourself to do something. And this is at least poor health, health problems, internal disharmony, apathy, and more. Choosing a profession - you choose your future.
