Changes and transitions: What are we dreaming about and what are we doing for this?
Around the world, perhaps, there are not a dozen people who would be completely satisfied with their fate. They can smile at press conferences and devour black caviar in the world's most expensive restaurants. They can even answer in the affirmative the question: “Do you consider yourself a happy person?” - and at the same time tell the truth. But no matter how it was there - they almost always know what they lack, so that it is even better!
Agree, most people are well aware (or at least they think they know) what they are missing. „For complete happiness”. Someone does not have an apartment, someone dreams of a car, another - to find the perfect couple for marriage, someone to lose weight, get better, start their own business, build muscles, break off relationships that do not bring pleasure, get rid of cellulite, quit smoke, buy a new netbook.
Determining the needs usually does not cause a person any difficulties. Ask him - and he will say with a 90 percent chance that he needs to be happy. But if a person knows what she is missing, then why does he simply not go and take what is needed?
Of course, one should not argue that a person can get an apartment or a car only with the power of thoughts, but with options like “lose weight”, “stop smoking” or “get rid of relationships that do not bring pleasure” problems should not arise at all. As with all others (just not in the short term, but in the long term). So why isn't everything working out?
The goals that we set for ourselves.
Here is an example. There is a person who, say, wants to lose weight. What is needed for this? Understandably - choose the right diet and start to follow it! Everything is very simple. But only in words! A lot of people who have problems with excess weight, can not get rid of bad habits and realize their dream.
Moreover, one cannot say that they do nothing at all. They read weight loss magazines, search the Internet for descriptions of various programs, some (those that are richer) even pay dietitians money to develop a special diet for the personal needs of their body. However, a few months after reading a regular “inspiring” article or a casual look in the mirror, such people begin to realize that nothing has changed during this time. Or it has changed, but completely "in the wrong direction."
The same can be said for almost any other purpose. If you want to quit smoking, you also get acquainted with various techniques, buy nicotine gum, and communicate with people who are unhappy on specialized forums. And all you need is to just stop smoking.
If you want to buy an apartment - you constantly monitor the price dynamics on specialized resources, read the articles of agencies, rejoicing at every positive news regarding the displacement in the real estate market and dream a lot how you will move from this hateful rented room to your own home. And you just need to set a certain monetary goal and start moving towards it. Get in the habit every month to set aside a certain amount to your bank account (or in a safe if banks do not trust). You can continue as long as you want.
Everyone thinks in terms of planning, but you need to think in terms of "transitions"
The problem is that we all think in terms of planning. We know how wonderful it will be for us in the future, when the dream finally comes true (when we lose weight, stop smoking, build muscle or buy an apartment). Sometimes we even plan how we will achieve this goal. But in order to really come where it is planned, you need not only to plan, but also to realize your plans. Do not just read about diet - and stick to it. Do not just watch how much real estate prices fell this month, but accumulate savings.
Changes can only be achieved with the help of "transitions". If there are two points, one of which reflects modern realities, and the other - that ideal dream to which we want to come - only moving from one point to another will lead to a result.
Of course, before we start moving, we need to see the path itself. But do not dwell on it. The problem usually lies not in the inability to see the path, but in the fact that even after seeing it, we often stop in our tracks and do not begin our movement. And having begun - we stop.
Thus, in order to achieve the desired changes, think less about whether it is “possible” and “what will happen for you”, and more about how to go from point “A” to point “B”. And remember - sometimes in order to achieve the ultimate goal you will need to go through another ten of such “points”. The main thing is not to stop on this way!
