Brainwashing
I once read all the books of Allen Carr, through which he quit drinking alcohol and smoking. Moreover, I dropped the weight by 18 kg per code and wrote a whole book about it, although I used to lead a wrong lifestyle and was a very full person. And when I read these books, I found the expression “Brainwashing” very cute, which Allen Carr loved to use in his guides.
What it is?
So, brainwashing is a blind belief in this or that information that has not been tested in practice and is not subject to critical evaluation. The simplest example is smoking: a person from childhood sees parents with a cigarette, notices people smoking in the street, and even a wolf smokes in the well-known cartoon “Well, wait!”. At the same time, the child constantly hears from parents that smoking is harmful and if they see him with a cigarette, then this teenager will be punished.
But as they say, we believe in what we see, not in what we hear. If you doubt this, then collect a few people and ask them that they, without thinking a second, fulfill your request. Next, raise your thumb and at the same time tell everyone: - “Raise your index finger!”
More than 80% of people will raise exactly the thumb, because they saw what you did. This explains the fact that words, compared with actions, have little power. That is why children continue to smoke. In other words, they were thoroughly brainwashed by the fact that they included the cartoons “Well, wait a minute” and smoked in front of a child.
That is, it seems to be harmful to smoke, and cigarettes do not deliver any pleasure in principle, but because of brainwashing, their availability and nicotine addiction, people still smoke. Everything else is excuse smokers. For example, what they like is the process of lighting, inhaling smoke, that they eliminate cigarette boredom. But a non-smoker does not need all this, does he?
However, in this article I will not dwell on the topic of smoking, because now we are talking exclusively about blind faith from childhood in any information or in what children see.
What other examples of brainwashing can be cited? Let's list this:
- Any addiction (coffee, alcohol and other drugs)
- Change your beloved is bad
- Dialogue with a stranger is absolutely impossible
- Before marriage you can not lose virginity
- Children are obliged to parents for the coffin
- It is necessary to learn on one five
All this is what we usually believe in since childhood. But where is the guarantee that this is the way to do? In what code of the Russian Federation is it written? You will say that this knowledge should be in the head of every person, just because it is passed down from generation to generation? No, it was previously forbidden dissent, for which they could shoot. That is why people had not to stand out from the common herd and continue to zombie their descendants.
For example, why did people decide that “treason” characterizes a person as bad? If a man decided to find another woman for himself, then this means only one thing - he is simply fed up with a real partner and does not suit him in some way. Of course, if you frankly communicate with each other, you can always work on your shortcomings. But now it’s about the fact that if a person decides to part with his couple, then he has every right to do so.
Chat with strangers
Belief in this is a consequence of education in the USSR, where it was strictly strictly forbidden to enter into dialogue with people passing on the street. It was forbidden not by law, but by moral principles. Standard phrases like “Decent girls don't behave like this” made modern girls very reserved and shy, although their real feminine essence wants a completely different life ...
This is a pure kind of brainwashing, because if you judge it like this, everyone has ever been a stranger, and now some of them have become close to each other.
Before marriage - no sex
And this tradition in general goes from time immemorial. Nowadays, almost no one abides by it, and here brainwashing will be small. However, there are still such families who really believe that for their daughter a stamp in the passport will look like a kind of permission to sleep with her new husband. Stupidly of this tradition, I have not seen yet, because if a girl does not even know whether her partner in sex would suit her, would it not be risky for her to marry him?
Children are obliged to parents for the coffin
Not certainly in that way. It would be better if the children respected their parents. But this will be only if the latter managed to find emotional contact with their child as a child. If this does not happen, then the parents have no right to demand anything from the children.
It is necessary to learn on one five
Still, I was mistaken when I said that it is more stupid not to sleep with the bridegroom before the wedding. If a person learns without a single four, then this 100% means only one thing - he is terribly afraid of getting angry from parents or teachers. After all, no child understands why he even goes to school for real, because he still does not see himself as an adult. “The parents said what was needed - what else can I do?” Thinks the first grader.
On the contrary, ideally, you need to learn from triples and fours in order to work further on mistakes and grow as a person. Moreover, 70-80% of the knowledge gained in school will not be useful to a person in later life. Judge for yourself how knowledge of the Ice Battle or the Battle of Alexander the Great can improve the quality of life of a modern person? Yes, just getting a crust - no more. Which, if you look even deeper, in principle, is not needed.

And there are many more such examples - try to find them yourself. But one thing is certain: if you learn to get rid of any kind of brainwashing, live consciously and in the way you personally like, your life will become much more interesting and richer! I think this is exactly what you need to devote your free time, and not a five-year study of the English language, just because the parents said so. Living in harmony with yourself, you yourself will be surprised how life drastically changes its colors in a positive direction.
