Meditationfest: Jedi Mali - Awareness at the moment

All welcome.

Now you see in front of you the third article from the Meditationfest series - lessons from 6 meditation teachers. This meditation is called Conscious Awareness in the Present Moment. The lecture I translate reads Jed Mali. In her, she talks about her spiritual path, about what is meditation for and directly teaches his meditation lesson. I recommend that you read this review completely, because of all the lectures that I have already published, I liked this lesson the most, I believe that in it you will be able to find a lot of useful and interesting thoughts that partly overlap with mine.

Jedi Mali. What is meditation for

Jeda studied with the gurus of meditation and yoga in Asia. According to the results of her practice with teachers, she developed a system of meditation, which, according to her, allows to achieve maximum awareness and clarity of mind. Jed speaks of awareness, it defines the totality of our beliefs, ideas, habits of mind and emotions as a kind of paradigm. And often people do not think about the reasons for the emergence of their paradigm, do not analyze what determines their thoughts or actions (“why I think so,” “why I did some act”). In the meantime, the outside world with its laws continues to influence us and dictates certain requirements regarding our reaction to you. If we are not able to change our paradigm in response to an external impulse, flexibly adapt and adjust it to circumstances, then it becomes difficult for us to live and interact in this world.

According to Jedi Mali, meditation classes provide an opportunity to become aware of their paradigm and change it in response to changing environmental conditions. In order to live a full life and understand it, it is necessary to exist in harmony with the laws of being, which require us to display the best qualities: courage, patience, love, strength of character, flexibility of mind, will. And if we do not listen to life, do not see what it requires of us, then we miss happiness and lose success. We do not reveal our potential, which, according to D. Mali, lies in every person.

Deliverance from illusions

Meditation allows you to understand your inner world, know yourself, recognize the basics of your beliefs and actions and make this world the way you want it to be: harmonious, self-sufficient and independent of the opinions and attitudes of others. Meditation breaks the veil of illusions in which you are shrouded. After a long practice, you become unable to deceive yourself: the true essence of things opens up for you. You no longer need to run away from yourself to meet phantoms and illusions that promise ephemeral, short-term happiness, because your inner beauty and radiance is revealed, plunging into which you will find balance and harmony with yourself.

After all, enlightenment, according to D. Mali, is not an acquisition of something and not a one-time spiritual achievement. Enlightenment is a one-time awareness: the ability to see the truth in all things, freedom of perception from the burden of illusions!

You will no longer be held hostage by the present moment and will be able to distance yourself from emotions and experiences that relate to the “here and now” period of time. You will get rid of the old habits and qualities that have poisoned your life without resistance, not without work, but without resistance ...

You will learn to introduce the brain to the alpha state (Note: Jed speaks less about energy and her blockers, unlike previous lessons teachers, she mentions brain electroencephalogram frequencies as one source of the effect of meditation) and calm the mind. There will be control over what is happening in your head: you will be able to sift out unusable thoughts and form your paradigm. Improve relationships with people and you will become an example for others. There will be the power to take responsibility for your life.

Jed claims that you will comprehend all these things without reading books or lectures, but with your eyes closed while meditating!

Present awareness

Jed says that we do not think about the emergence of their thoughts, we begin to identify with them and believe in them. It seems to us that we, our body is separated from all existence, we see ourselves as a kind of separate and autonomous entity. But we do not think about what makes us exist, what fills us with life and makes our thoughts and desires possible. The body is changing and this is what fills us with life. There is a permanent life (permanent life), and there is also a mediator (medium). The changing life, the medium (medium), is a film, that picture of life and what is happening around us, which is shown to us. Imagine that everything you see, all the pictures of life is a film that is broadcast on a movie screen.

The plot of the film is something that is constantly changing and exists in time, and the projection screen is something permanent and timeless (the same constant life). The latter is our original and authentic existence, eternal and unchanging. But sometimes we become passionate about the plot of the film, its characters so much that we forget that we are just watching a movie. Then we do not see the source of existence and become dependent on the plot of the picture. In the meantime, our true existence is a source of energy and a source of life. This is being, indivisible and whole, nothing exists except for it and nothing is outside of it.

A sense of the presence of life that we have lost

This energy exists everywhere and everywhere, it allows you to take any form: you can go there - go here, you can become cheerful, you can become sad, you can become all these things. We can create all these things from energy, but this does not mean at all that these things are reality, even the state of happiness is just a form of this energy. When our inner eye is focused on the truth and the foundation of all things, we see this eternal, everlasting part of life. And she is always with us, she will not go anywhere. This is what gives us a sense of the presence of life (Presence of life). It has always been with us, we were born with it, but we are so used to it that we no longer notice it and take it for granted. There is nothing strange that we missed the feeling of being alive.

Awareness - looking at the essence of things that never leaves us, we just lost this ability due to the fact that we were very much carried away by what is happening in the film. When we focus on this original glory of true life, we are filled with a sense of beauty and wonder. In this way we comprehend the truth and the nature of being.

Meditation Jedi Mali. Practice

One session of meditation should take 15-20 minutes of your time. Jedi Mali argues that the foundation for the success of any undertaking, including meditation, rests on the following qualities: patience, perseverance, willingness, openness, trust, and a little detachment and sense of humor. It is necessary to be engaged regularly and not to spare to spend for this time, all your efforts will more than pay off after a while.

Breathing is an important part of any meditation watch out for him. As for the place and time, it is better to meditate in the same place at the same time, so the brain will get used to it and its ability to relax and concentrate will reach a maximum during this period of time in this place.

Jed states that it is important to understand what you expect from meditation, so as not to be disheartened in the results of the practice.

Let's start meditation

All that will be below you can safely represent and pronounce to yourself and most importantly do not rush. Balance your breathing, calm down and concentrate.

So close your eyes and look inward. Eliminate all thoughts of today, let them leave you. Concentrate on the present moment of time. Focus on breathing. Feel how you concentrate on breathing. You are filled with a sense of peace and serenity. Realize that you are now in a state of peace and serenity. Feel yourself in the present moment, your consciousness is ready to fill your inner world (explore within). Breathing pacifies you. And the more you follow him, the more calm and peaceful you become.

Over time, while you are following your breath, you realize that you no longer need to make an effort to breathe. Breathing as if goes by itself, regardless of you, easily and naturally. Something controls the breath itself. It’s as if you don’t breathe, but you breathe (being breathed), you realize that something has taken control of your breath always, throughout your life.

We did not notice this. This is a sea of awareness (Note: the fact that Jedi Mali calls permanent life permanent life), that which directs the course of breathing, this sea is eternal and always accessible to us. If you were asked you exist? You would answer yes, of course. But if you were interested, how do you know this? You would say that it is obvious, I am here. Our existence is obvious and for this reason is very familiar, so much so that we perceive it as a given.

We have forgotten what makes our lives possible. It is the source of life that makes life possible in all its forms. Is it possible not to exist? Let's try. We see that we can not. Our whole experience is registration with the consciousness of what is happening. You are aware of your existence.

A sea of awareness exists even then, you are not aware of it (for example, when you sleep). When does awareness appear? It manifests itself in the present moment. Concentrate on the present moment. Try to exist beyond this moment for at least a minute. We understand that this is impossible: awareness can exist only in the present moment. When we become aware of the present moment of time, we comprehend the essence of life imprinted in it.

Realize the constancy of the present moment, realize its immobility. This is the mediator (medium) in relation to the sea of awareness. Only this moment ensures the existence of a sea of awareness. These are who we are, the eternal sea of awareness. We, those who always exist and always in the present. Now pay attention to the fact that the present moment is not fixed, static, if that were the case, then we would see one thing all the time.

The static nature of the moment in the present tense makes the possibility of change, feel it, be filled with the awareness of this knowledge, this is what gives rise to freedom within each moment. This allows our consciousness, which is in constant motion within the sea of awareness, to register and be aware of what is happening. Awareness does not depend on age or experience, it is not acquired, it cannot be earned or earned. This is not what we get, this is what we are.

This is an existence that is available to us at every moment in time.

Now let the peace and serenity of your whole being expand to the boundaries of your physical body and reach the state of a harmonic continuum consisting in the harmony between the inner outer worlds.

Breathe deeply, the eyes are still closed, smile, feel the light that gives rise to your smile. Let the smile send the light of your being through your body. Now the person who started the meditation is gone, everything has changed in you. You have become harmony. Take this harmony into your life. And when you're ready, open your eyes ...

Final comments from the author of the translation

So, I already wrote at the beginning that I really liked the lecture by Jedi Mali. First, her reasoning about what is meditation forand, secondly, because she spoke less about others about all kinds of “energies and astrals”. The information in her lecture is more substantive and understandable.

Indeed, perhaps the most important effect of meditation for me personally was the deliverance from illusions. We ourselves sometimes do not understand how our head and the emotional world can be littered with stereotypes, established patterns of perception, emotional habits, complexes and fears. All this is a raging mess within, which draws strength from us, tires us, paralyzes our will, controls us, our actions and thoughts, and parasitizes us.

While we are in his power, it is difficult to realize how much we are absorbed and dependent on this mess, because it acts like intoxication: it overshadows your eyes, puts your mind to sleep and it seems natural to us, we don’t even think about it. Only then, if there is a “awakening”, we understand how much negativity we had, what prevented us from living and poisoned our lives. But in order for this revival to come it is necessary to meditate.

The very method of meditation Jedi Mali will not criticize, but just give my opinion. If you like, then you can practice it, but I still think that it is better to meditate with the mantra and think less, think during the sessions, but this meditation from the article calls for some mental work, which, in my opinion, still needs to be kept to a minimum.

But if you do not think about anything during meditation, this does not mean that no understanding comes to you. It comes by itself, it is postponed somewhere on an unconscious, non-verbal level, like a sense of truth and order, so that later it will be revealed in words, thoughts, and deeds.

That's all for today. Wait for the next article from the Meditationfest series (it already exists). Let me just stop with the articles in this series, as I would like to dilute them with others to compromise with those who are not interested in Meditationfest, who expect me to just write articles on self-development and those who follow the translation of Meditationfest lectures. So the next article will be devoted to bad habits and how to quit smoking, and after it I will return to the review of lectures by leading meditation masters.

Thanks for attention!
