How to become attentive? Developmental attention exercises

From time to time, each of us lacks care. This is not always due to overwork. It happens that the properties of attention are not sufficiently developed. But it is fixable. After all, invented the development of attention. What are they? How much effort must be spent to become more attentive? What concentration exercises are most effective? What else, besides the ability to concentrate, it is desirable to develop? A careful reading of this article will open to you the answers to each of these questions.

Development of attention - the process is responsible, long, as well as training any other skill. It is worth preparing for this initially. It is easy to degrade only. Any progress requires effort and determination. The development of attention implies total involvement in current events.

Exercises for the development of attention are most often directed towards improving concentration. But the volume of attention, its distribution, stability, switchability also determine the ability to focus on an object or process. Therefore, their training is desirable to pay no less attention.

The time required for the development of attention, especially individually. One person will be enough for a couple of weeks. To the other - not less than a month. And the third will feel the result only after several months of exercise. Everyone different varying degrees of learning, as well as not the same level of development of their inclinations. In addition, not everyone can allocate a lot of time for training. Accordingly, the process of their development will also be more protracted. Do not overload yourself. If someone tries to go through a weekly amount of training in one day, this is unlikely to bring a positive result.

Focusing Exercises

If a person feels absent-mindedness or lack of composure, then he needs to learn to concentrate. Exercises on concentration of attention imply the development of the ability to focus, not to be distracted by external factors. What is especially pleased is the absence of any special devices. This skill can be trained anywhere, at any time.

The most simple and effective exercises for the development of attention:

  • Second hand;
  • Center of the Universe;
  • Beads;
  • Sasaki method;
  • Creative tension.

The common feature of these methods is the full involvement of a person.

Second hand

The first recommendation when asking for attention exercises. The fact is that almost everyone has a clock with hands. If anything, they can be installed on the desktop computer or phone screen. Since the second hand performs a monotonous movement, the mind very quickly gets used to it and it is quite difficult for a person to focus on it all the time. That's the beauty of the exercise.

To start training, just two minutes to look at the second hand. If this seems like an easy task, then you can complicate it by turning on the TV or the computer. It is advisable to choose an interesting program or film so that you always want to be distracted by it. Such an "execution" will teach not to be distracted and to be as focused as possible.

Center of the Universe

Another version of the exercise on the development of attention. It can be done absolutely anywhere, at any time of the day. For example, even in public transport. It is enough to choose the object of observation and concentrate on it for as long as possible, as if this is the only thing in the Universe.

This is not, of course, about a person, because you can also get to his ears. It is better to choose some inanimate object. But again, it all depends on the situation. There is no point in doing this exercise when you risk to become the object of close attention of others. If, however, public censure is not expected - full speed ahead.

Beads

To begin this attention concentration exercise, you should take the beads and start sorting them like a rosary. Smoothly and methodically replacing one bead with another, while concentrating on each. If a person feels distracted, you must start all over again. You can complicate this exercise, like the second hand, for example, by turning on your favorite TV channel or video.

Sasaki Method

Named after Chris Sasaki, who applied this approach. As soon as a person catches himself thinking that he is distracted, it is necessary to say “Attention” to himself. Immediately try to understand what is happening next.

The first step is to select the object of observation and concentrate on it for 10 minutes. At the slightest "fly away into the clouds," instantly tell yourself "Attention."

This method allows you to quickly "go down to the Earth" and control the situation around you, which will undoubtedly come in handy in real life.

Creative tension

This attention concentration exercise must be performed, taking a not very comfortable position. The fact is that a person is often distracted in a comfortable environment, which does not prevent him from "soaring in the clouds." If you take an uncomfortable position that will require some effort, then it will become much more difficult for a person to be distracted. The more unusual the pose, the less likely the distraction. This is quite an effective method to quickly put yourself in order and concentrate.

In addition to the exercises on the development of attention, it is desirable use other tricks, allowing to concentrate. These include yoga or meditation. Also helps to tune in to perform work easy instrumental music without words.

Regardless of the chosen attention development exercise, it should be carried out methodically and regularly. But you should not dwell only on one method. It is advisable to experiment from time to time, taking yourself out of the "comfort zone". Otherwise, the mind will adapt, stop developing. When performing attention concentration exercises, it is better to alternate them with the development of other skills: volume, sustainability, distribution, shifting attention. In this case, training will give more effect, and the result from them will last much longer.
