Life: what it is and how to make it good

There is an interesting aphorism: "No matter how many days you have lived, it is important how much life was in your days." Life is not a path from birth to death, but how it is passed. It is filled with events, emotions, people who paint it in positive and negative "colors". Having got rid of some misconceptions and having learned to think correctly, a person will feel like a pet of the Universe.

What is life?

Life is a space-time movement in which a person develops, acquires knowledge, skills, experience, spending energy and interacting with other individuals. This concept can be viewed from a biological, physical, philosophical point of view. There is no precise definition for it, and it is unlikely to ever appear. If you shift the angle of view in the direction of psychology, this term will have about 7 billion symbols, since each person perceives it in his own way.

Life is always a game with a risk, adventurous, sometimes unpredictable. People are divided into "players" and "viewers." The first decisive, purposeful, courageous, decision-makers in accordance with their worldview. The latter rely on chance, in decision-making they rely more on social norms, the opinions of others, rarely come to grips.

What is a good life?

A good life is satisfaction with oneself, one's financial position, social status, emotional state and physical health. We are talking about feelings, about how a person perceives himself in the world and the world around him. The glass is always half full and empty at the same time. What to give him a definition, everyone decides for himself.

There is a simple test for the definition of happiness and satisfaction. It is necessary to draw on the sheet a vertical line, dividing it in half. On the left, write the general signs of a bad life; on the right, the good Each column must have at least 10 points. It is necessary to touch on all areas (health, finance, society, etc.). Now you should delete from both columns that which does not concern you and count all the remaining points. If at least 70% of them are not crossed out, you are lucky!

As an analysis, you can use the diary. Every evening should give an assessment of the day passed (plus, minus, neutral). It is also useful to describe the events that have occurred, especially those that influenced the outcome of the assessment. You can analyze the data at the end of the week, month, season, year. You can mark dates in the calendar with different shades, for example, “pluses” paint green, “minuses” - gray, “neutral” - yellow. So it will be clearly seen how the period passed. Descriptions will help eliminate sources of unhappiness and dissatisfaction, increase the proportion of positively influencing factors.

What should be a good life?

There are several common misconceptions about determining the level of satisfaction.

  • The more money the better. In fact, better - when enough. How much money a person needs in order to satisfy his needs and desires, to feel confident, this is what is needed for a good life.
  • Prestigious things make life good. Many people are mistaken in believing that they need a snow-white yacht for happiness, without knowing how much money they need to pay for parking, spare parts, fuel. In addition, have to think about where to store it in the winter. With the purchase of an expensive car comes the fear that it can be stolen or scratched. And brand shoes with heels, for which two salaries are paid, will suddenly turn out to be completely uncomfortable. Prestige is only an advertising move, it is not the best measure for a good life.
  • Be sure to marry (get married). Love really inspires, makes you happy. But to marry just because my mother said so, it is urgent to get married, because all classmates have done so, wrong. The choice of the second half should be conscious, the desire to live with it until old age - to cause admiration. If there is no such need now, it is better to leave this decision until a fateful meeting.
  • Good life is a reason for envy. Envy on the part of someone indicates rather his dissatisfaction with his fate, as a result of which a person compares himself with others, and as a rule loses. A foreign and collective opinion is not the determinant of a good life.

What makes life good?

Life is a game. The decisions taken are moves, subsequent events move forward or make you take a step back. But only those who do nothing lose to themselves. You can earn extra points using very simple techniques.

  • New impressions. A trip to the mountains, a horse ride along the coast, a yoga class in the forest - something that has not been done before will do. Everything that was postponed until later was considered a cherished dream, an unattainable goal, an unfulfilled desire that could lead to positive changes.
  • Smiles and high spirits. According to psychologists, it takes 21 days to make something a habit. You can check it out, every morning, waking up with a smile. It is worth painting it on the face during the day. For the brain, it will be a signal that everything is going fine.
  • Time with friends and family. The support of loved ones is important. Feeling a significant part of the family or team is useful. Emotional talk, fun, a sense of fraternal shoulder give positive emotions, soothe, inspire.
  • Career and personal growth. Realization of oneself as a specialist raises self-esteem, satisfaction with life directly depends on this. The development of creative abilities, self-knowledge, physical training helps to feel significant and complete.
  • Charity. It is not so much about material donations, as about helping other people in principle. Philanthropism can be expressed in the construction of houses for cats, free education of children, supervision of an old woman. Understanding that a person has something to share adds value to what he owns.
  • Change. Sometimes it is easy to remove the feeling of stagnation simply by rearranging the furniture in the apartment, changing the hairstyle, changing the wardrobe. Relocation, job change, smoking cessation will do. But the main thing is not the cardinal change, but the result obtained from them. They must change their sense of self for the better.

The man himself decides how to react to what is happening with him. Envy other people's achievements or achieve goals yourself, please yourself with pleasant trifles or complain of constant bad luck. Sometimes changing life means changing attitudes towards it.
