How can you argue about what was the first chicken or egg? skills. But the fact remains that without belief in oneself, it is really difficult to achieve success in life and be able to enjoy this success.
What is the belief in yourself.
Belief in yourself is a person's conviction in the correctness of the chosen path of life, confidence in the fact that he is able to achieve his main goals, is worthy of this and he will succeed. Self-confidence and self-confidence are often confused, but these are different concepts. Belief in yourself is directed to the future, and self-confidence in the present. When a person has high self-confidence, he is convinced of the correctness of each current decision, everything he does is correct.
Accordingly, each mistake made reduces this confidence, and each success increases. On the contrary, belief in oneself is not so dependent on current actions, on what is happening in life now. By this she is dangerous, a person who strongly believes in himself, in what he can only become, what he can achieve, drops out of current life, stops paying attention to what is happening to him now. Therefore, one belief in oneself is not enough, but one cannot exist without it, because this faith, like a beacon, always burns somewhere far away, illuminating our path.
How to believe in yourself and your strength.
It is interesting that no one has yet figured out how to measure faith in oneself, so the advice on how to strengthen this faith is rather conditional. To a greater extent, they relate to certain patterns of behavior that we can observe among people who have strong faith in themselves and their strengths. To copy someone's behavior and emit it for a long time is the surest way to become the one with whom this behavior was copied. And as a result, to achieve the same results or to acquire the same skills, habits or, as in our case, believe in yourself and your strength.
Take responsibility and accept yourself.
When can we basically believe in ourselves? Only when there is a conviction that it is from us, our actions, and the results we get that depend on our actions. That is why the adoption of 100% responsibility for their lives is a necessary element of faith in themselves. If there is no certainty that we ourselves control our lives, how can we believe in ourselves? And as another consequence of taking responsibility is self-acceptance. By agreeing to accept ourselves as we are, enabling us to believe in ourselves and our strength, we can never truly believe in ourselves if we condemn ourselves for who we are.
More detail about responsibility is written in the article about 100% responsibility, but if you select the most basic, then you need to stop doing 5 things:
- Blame
- To justify
- Defend yourself
- To complain
- Hesitate
And here you can very clearly distinguish two sides of the same coin. To increase responsibility, you need to stop blaming others, and to accept yourself, stop blaming yourself. Also with other points, for example, for the responsibility to stop complaining about others, for accepting, stop complaining about yourself. Responsibility and self-acceptance are necessary conditions for believing in yourself, but not sufficient.
Separate your physical self from the inner.
In various spiritual teachings, this is highlighted very clearly, there is a body and there is a soul. And our soul, not our body, is something completely different. If you look at it from the side of science, we can call it the subconscious of a person or something else. It is not so important now, the main thing is to learn to separate our body, our physical self, from the inner one. And this needs to be done in order to understand what it means to believe in yourself. After all, this belief does not refer to the physical self, but to the inner.
Our physical body can be imperfect, sick, can give out strange emotions or reactions to the world around us and events. But this has nothing to do with the inner self, in which we can believe no matter what. The body may suffer, but faith in oneself can be very strong in the process, and ultimately it can solve everything. However, since belief in oneself also has physical manifestations, we will not reject them.
We teach our body to radiate faith in ourselves.
When a person has a high faith in himself and his strength, this is displayed on his physical body. These signs are the same as those of self-confident people with high self-esteem. This is a straight, proud posture, and a direct look, and confident speech. All this creates an aura of human confidence in their abilities.
Another of the outward signs of self-belief is that such a person consistently adheres to some specific values and beliefs. Does not change them and consistently defends them. This indicates a holistic, formed personality. About these we say that a person has an inner core and this is possible only if there is faith in yourself.
And imitating these signs, doing it for a long time, we make ourselves believe in ourselves. It really works, it is not necessary to change beliefs, to change behaviors, sometimes vice versa, by changing how we act, we can change our inner selves.
To ask and pray means to believe.
Following the example of religion, a person truly believes when he begins to pray and then ask. Of course, we will not pray in the literal sense of ourselves, but it really makes sense to talk with your inner self. Sometimes it is very important to tell yourself about some things that concern us, to reveal the truth about yourself or some events to someone we can believe - your inner self. How to conduct this conversation is only for us to decide, but it is often easier to do this using various meditative practices.
Another important element of such a conversation with yourself is the ability to ask and thank. And, first of all, it concerns not some physical things, but asking for forgiveness of oneself, asking for the strength to perform some actions, the embodiment of solutions. Not forgetting to thank yourself when we get it.
Having learned internal conversation with ourselves, we raise our faith in ourselves to an unattainable level for others. And for this we do not need anything, and no one else but us. The main thing is to be honest with yourself, open your heart to yourself.
Question everything.
Deep faith in yourself and your strength very often turns into faith only in yourself. When we begin to understand the force that belief in ourselves gives, we have no need to rely on others or in general on the world around us. All that is necessary is within us. And this leads to the fact that we begin to question literally everything. What we still believed in, our limiting beliefs, false values, imposed on us from without, emerge. Everything that makes our own life a stranger, programmed by others.
And again, we can wait for our strong faith in ourselves to develop, to question everything around, or to start doing it ourselves, as a result, to increase confidence in ourselves and finally be freed from the influence of others.
