Hello, dear reader! The second publication from the series of articles about success and self-development is devoted to one simple, but rather effective, method that allows you to get to know the people around you better and also present yourself to them. The effectiveness of the newspaper can be useful for both permanent teams and temporarily united. For example, during a meeting or training.

How did you come up with the idea of ​​creating a wall newspaper of efficiency?

Before describing the principle of drawing up a wall newspaper of efficiency, I’ll tell a little background of its appearance. I think each of us found himself in a situation where what we had been looking for for a long time was literally “under our nose”. We just did not even think to look in this direction. For example, “having trampled more than one pair of shoes” in search of a talented copywriter, we will quite accidentally find out in the “smoking room” that this is exactly the profession of the daughter of our assistant.

She was in search of a new project for a couple of weeks and could accept our proposal, but just yesterday took another large order. Remarkably, considering that we have been sorting out responding amateurs and marketers for more than a month! The jaw involuntarily stretches into the area of ​​his own elbow, stopping due to anatomical features a few centimeters from the target ...

What if we had known about the daughter of the supply manager before? Maybe she would have worked for us? But this did not happen due to poor communication between the employees of our company. There are millions of such examples and I think everyone can remember similar cases.

What is wall newspaper effectiveness?

Reflecting on such situations, I had an idea how to additionally update the untapped potential of each employee, without any violence or coercion.

Efficiency wall newspapers are a presentation of the skills and abilities of each team member, as well as their immediate environment. With a little comic version of this technique can be found further on the example of several characters from popular cartoons.

On a piece of paper, we outline the field for each of the employees. In it we place a photo of a person, under which we leave space for three blocks of information:

  • Additional skills and abilities of the person himself (not related to his work), as well as a hobby, possessing something original (for example, a rare piano), etc .;
  • Information about next of kin or friends, such as their profession, unusual skills, etc .;
  • Potential connections of a person, which, as it were, are there, but in order to apply them, you will have to work harder (for example, someone can reach the governor through mutual friends, etc.).

The main principle of building a wall newspaper of efficiency is absolute voluntariness and ease. It will work only if there is a friendly atmosphere within the team. The number of points in each of the sections is purely individual. The best can be considered from three to seven. If the HR-manager approaches the implementation of such a task creatively, then it will be possible to have a fun game that will not only amuse the employees, but may also bring them tangible benefits. By the way, not only them, but the company itself. After all, Kairos management can be used not only for individual development, but also for the prosperity of the entire company. Efficiency wall can be prepared and used in different ways. For example, placed in a prominent place inside the department or even in the corridor between different departments. To a company that has dozens of employees, everyone could find out a little more useful information about their colleagues.

In the case of a temporary team, for example, during the trainings, I often use a simplified version of the effectiveness newspaper. When on the A4 sheet each training participant writes his name and telephone number, and below them indicates the information, as described above. First, we run the sheet in a circle in one direction, while all fill it.

And then, he moves in the opposite direction and everyone can carefully read the information about the other participants of the training and, if interested, write down their phone number in order to call each other later. I will not be cunning, that all without exception "experimental" found what they were looking for half his life, but a rather large percentage of the participants met with useful and relevant information, in addition to the main goal, which led him to the training. And this, in fact, is the basic principle of Kairos-management - more benefit in the same time.
