How to deal with laziness: useful tips

A man of action strives for a goal, lazy is only in the clouds. ... Sometimes, idly indulging in laziness, we lose a huge amount of opportunities. Without her, each of us would have long reached the top of a career, made a fortune, learned all languages, and as a whole became a successful person. But you can’t throw out the words from the song, laziness is inherent in any person, but some have managed to take it under control, others are in her captivity. What can be done in this case, how to deal with laziness?

Where does laziness come from?

Unwillingness to do anything is familiar to everyone. But why does it appear? In fact, there are only a few reasons:

  1. Fatigue. Any body needs rest to recuperate. If you just come from work, and you need to urgently do something around the house, the brain will resist this fact.
  2. Rejection of a job. No wonder if you are not in a hurry to start cleaning the toilet, there is hardly anyone who likes this activity. Also with any other business, if it brings negative emotions, the human brain tries to avoid it in any way.
  3. Lack of motivation. All life, society forces us to do something. First, parents and teachers are forced to learn lessons at school, then study subjects at the institute. Then life itself pushes for job searches, training, daily work. And with the advent of their own family, business and care doubled. Sometimes it all seems like an unbearable burden, especially if the person himself wants to draw butterflies or build cars. Remember, when you do your favorite thing, even the thought of laziness does not arise.
  4. Habit. If you think about it, laziness is not an inaction. When we are lazy, we have time to watch TV, eat, listen to music, play computer games, sleep, talk on the phone, etc. In fact, these classes also consume energy and strength, just like any other job. But if they take too much time, and the basic, useful affairs of a person are not enough, they call him a bum. Why is that? Everything is simple, any actions get into the habit sooner or later, and starting to spend a lot of time watching TV shows or talking with a friend, in the future it is extremely difficult to refuse such a pattern of behavior.

An interesting experiment. As early as 1927, a paradoxical phenomenon was discovered, which today is called the Ringelman Effect. Its essence lies in the fact that a person always follows the path of least resistance, preferring to shift the responsibility onto others. It was established experimentally. Ordinary people were asked to lift the maximum weight alone, after which they were united in groups of 2, 4, 8 or more people. So, the more people were in the group, the less they spent, relying on their colleagues. In groups of 8 people, the individual result was almost halved.

How to win laziness?

Unfortunately, there is no universal way to deal with laziness. Here you can only give advice, but everyone will choose their own path. For starters, I want to share my method, which always works 100%. It consists in the following:

  1. Every morning I start with charging (yes, it is with her). This allows you to quickly put the body into operation and adjust the brain to work.
  2. Then I plan my day. That is, I do not just think that today I need to do this and that, but I set the exact time frame.
  3. Also leave time for rest.
  4. Getting to work, I never think about the size of its volume. Guided by the principle "the main thing - to start."
  5. If suddenly laziness overtakes me, I become in the middle of the room and completely inactive (you can stand on one leg). At first it seems ridiculous, but very soon this pastime is annoying, and the brain itself begins to “beg for work”.

That's actually the whole secret of how to overcome laziness. In my case, this guide always helps. However, just in case, I saved a few other interesting tips:

  1. Reception of vitamins. Sometimes chronic fatigue is a sign of a lack of beneficial trace elements in the body.
  2. First, the hardest. Having done in the morning what causes the strongest negative emotions, the rest of the day can be spent with a sense of accomplishment and pride in victory over laziness.
  3. Praise. The support and approval of others helps to quickly “perk”. If they are stingy with praise, you can do it yourself. At least for the fact that somewhere deep down you are ready to fight laziness.
  4. Division of labor. If the task seems impossible, then some of the cases can be passed on to someone else. No, this is not laziness, this is a division of labor for the benefit of society (family, etc.).

Summing up, I would like to mention another property of human laziness. In fact, laziness is a kind of boomerang, the further you throw it, the more powerfully it returns. So just take it for granted and allow yourself to sit back from time to time. However, do not forget about the intended purpose. And start already to act, finally!
